While flouncing around Paris last week, Bella Hadid slipped on not one but two bikini tops in the place of actual shirts. Both times, she wasn’t heading to a pool or beach. Instead, her summertime sartorial choice was purely for aesthetics.
First, Hadid attended the Heron Preston Presentation Man Menswear Spring/Summer 2018 show in a triangle-style bikini top with a metal clasp in the front. She paired it with a traffic-cone orange cropped denim jacket and mini skirt. Later in the day, Hadid swapped out her beach-ready look for another. The model was spotted wearing a black bandeau top with a brown snakeskin leather jacket draped over her shoulders. The top gave Hadid the kind of underboob that can’t be achieved with your everyday tube top. This bandeau was 100 percent originally designed to be worn while relaxing in a poolside cabana or under an umbrella at a beach.
Here’s an unobstructed view at the first look.
And this is the bandeau situation.
I don’t blame Hadid, though. In fact, I strongly recommend wearing bikini tops as actual clothes. During the summer, I’ve been known to do the same — poolside or no. Wearing actual crop tops and bras in 95 degree weather can feel claustrophobic and completely disgusting. Wearing a bikini top instead is the perfect solution. Not only does it cut down the top part of your outfit to one layer, the fabric was also specifically designed to absorb moisture. You’ll feel less gross about sweating your ass off in it. Trust. My only suggestion is to take a cue from Bella Hadid and stick to black bikini tops. They’re the easiest to disguise as part of your outfit.
