What to buy right now.
The Racked office is currently split into two groups: people who think summer is over, and people who don’t. Regardless of which category they fall into, everyone can shop their hearts out with this weekend’s sales.
Fall merchandise has fallen into the mix with brands like indie favorite Loup offering a handful of denim and wide-leg trousers, but you can also still stock up on discounted tank tops, dresses, and swimsuits at retailers like Madewell and Frank and Oak.
If you’re looking for a bit of both, the seemingly never-ending blow-out sales are still in full swing at multi-brand retailers, too: Moda Operandi and Barneys are now at 75% off, The Outnet is running its summer clearance sale, and Farfetch has an extra 20% off sale items. Check out the best of this weekend’s discounts — and what to buy from each of them — below.
Frank and Oak: So! Much! Good! Stuff! The retailer’s semi-annual sale offers up to 70% off some really great transitional wear-now-and-later pieces. Highlights include this really oversized coral button-down for $20, a bunch of high-neck muscle tanktops starting at $15, easy T-shirt dresses for $30, and a lot of other lightweight linen and cotton items. As of right now, most (if not all) sizes are in stock for a majority of the popular styles.
Athleta: Take up to 60% off during the activewear brand’s semi-annual sale. On all fronts — from women’s to girls’ selections, petite to plus — there are some serious steals here, with tank tops and T-shirts starting at $14, leggings and pants starting at $20, and tons of sports bras (like this really cute striped wireless support bra) coming in well under $30.
Madewell: It’s not uncommon for Madewell to have a sale running, but the brand’s big “30% off sale items†promotion this weekend is a rare one, so you don’t want to miss it. There are tons of things — jewelry, shoes, T-shirts — that you’ll wear year-round, along with plenty of steals that are perfect for the last few months of warm weather. Use code THINKBIG at checkout. (Things are already selling out, so move quickly on this one!)
Nordstrom: The department store’s anniversary sale launched for cardmembers last week, but it opens up to everyone starting today. The sale is a big deal because hundreds of new-season items, including beauty products, boots, athletic gear, andjeans, are significantly marked down; the prices go right back up after the event is over. We broke down the best clothes and accessories to buy here, and the best beauty buys here.
Nike: Take an extra 20% off sales styles until Saturday, July 22nd, with code SAVEMORE20. If you’re anything like me, buying the things you need — like running sneakers and workout clothes — are the hardest to buy full price. So let’s celebrate the fact that multiple versions of the Flyknit sneaker are under $80, training leggings and capris start at $30, and tops start at $15.
Net-a-Porter: Yes, this is still going on, and currently there are even moremarkdowns with an additional 20% off items labeled “sale must have.†You’ll find super-steep discounts on designer names like J.W. Anderson, Balenciaga, and Acne Studios. There’s a good mix between stuff you can wear right now, like swimwear and lightweight dresses, and winter stuff, like bomber jackets and peacoats.
Loup: While a lot of what you’ll find is still around the $100 mark, things are still significantly discounted from their original prices, and they’re all pieces (see: pants, denim, T-shirts) that you don’t have to put away when cooler weather arrives. Theseburgundy wide-leg trousers ($112) and this longline black denim coat ($130) kind of scream fall, no?
