We all knew Balenciaga was going to have a few surprises in store for its SS18 collection. However, apart from a few bold prints, the majority of the French label’s latest Paris Fashion Week show seemed to be rather tame.
Until the models swapped out their iconic skintight stiletto boots for another very recognizable piece of footwear — Crocs.
It looks like Balenciaga is the latest designer to try to make Crocs trendy, adding a 4-inch platform to give the foam-resin shoe a more “high-end” look.
This isn’t the first time we’ve seen the passé footwear on the catwalks this season. Christopher Kane brought back the rubber design for a second time duringLondon Fashion Week SS18. However, the clog had been drastically redesigned, adorned with bold rhinestones to add a little oomph.
Balenciaga, however has fully embraced all of Crocs quirks, creating them in all of the classic Croc colors including green, pink, purple, black, gray, and yellow.
Furthermore, they even come complete with cringe Croc charms, ranging from an avocado to the Balenciaga logo and even a pug.
Ladies and gents, our worst fears have come true: Today, on October 1st, 2017, Balenciaga decided to send PLATEAU CROCS down the runwaypic.twitter.com/02wgptaXCr

The shoes will be on sale exclusively through the Spanish fashion house during spring 2018.
To Croc, or not to Croc? That is the question.
