Looking like she stepped out of the Studio 54 era, Amal Clooney partied the night away in gold lamé at Thursday’s Farfetch and William Vintage x Gianni Versace archive celebration, hosted by Elizabeth Stewart and William Banks-Blaney.
The event took place in honor of the late designer and to celebrate the archive collection of more than 500 vintage Versace pieces that will be sold exclusively on Farfetch.com and in the William Vintage store.
Clooney was dressed appropriately in a mesh frock from Versace’s Fall 1994 line. The slouchy short-sleeved tunic with a boatneck hung from the attorney’s frame. While the dress was rather shapeless, the clingy chainmail material, which Versace made famous, and cinched hip didn’t hide her curves. George Clooney’s wife coordinated with a gold clutch and matching strappy heels.
The mother of twins looked as if she had come straight off the runway. In the brand’s most recent fashion show, Cindy Crawford, Naomi Campbell, Helena Christensen, and Claudia Schiffer wore similar gold dresses to pay tribute to the designer.
While Clooney definitely sparkled, a few other celeb attendees also stood out from the crowd, like Jaime King, who illuminated the night in a ’90s-tastic multicolored striped short-sleeved button-down with matching skinny pants. She accessorized with super-chunky statement hoop earrings. Isla Fisher looked sophisticated in a one-shoulder black dress. Her black and white choker added a little sass.
Kate Bosworth’s floral ensemble, consisting of a multicolored jacket and matching flared pants, blew us away. But Maye Musk, Elon Musk’s 69-year-old model mom, was the evening’s standout in head-to-toe black velvet, posing with the mannequins in vintage Versace.
